The Hartley Walnut Tree is an English-style walnut with light cream colored kernels of very high quality. The nuts of the Hartley Walnut Tree are large, slightly pointed and delicious. The Hartley Walnut Trees bear at a very young age. They bloom late which avoids late Spring frosts and the nuts ripen in late September. Hartley Walnut Trees are a good choice for growers farther South due to its relatively low chill requirement of 500-700 hours. Grows in zones 4-8.
