The fruit of the Sherwood Jujube Tree is excellent tasting with a sweet apple-like flavor. The Sherwood Jujube fruit is a large, oblong, shiny, reddish-brown date-like fruit. Like the other jujube trees, it's drought tolerant, cold hardy, and is good for eating fresh or dried. However, the Sherwood has notably less thorns than the other varieties. Also, the Sherwood Jujube fruit ripens later than the others. Zones 5-10.
