Description

Mycorrhizal Fungi (aka Roots Tree Saver) is specifically designed to reduce transplant stress while improving soil hydration and fertility. It's applied to the root zone of trees and shrubs at planting. Five species of mycorrhizal fungi and six species of beneficial bacteria are packed into this formula to improve plant nutrition provide sustainable soil fertility.

Our mycorrhizal fungi serves as a secondary root system to 99% of the earth's plants. Mycorrhizae extend themselves far out into the soil to extract nutrients and water for their host plant. In return, the plant supplies the mycorrhizal fungi sugars on which to live.

Trees and plants with thriving "mycorrhizal root" systems are better able to survive and grow in stressful man-made environments. With a lack of available water, low nutrients and organic matter, urban and suburban environments are stressful for plants. Recent breakthrough advances in biotechnology enable us to create a "natural forest soil ecosystem" for your backyard.

Mycorrhizal fungi is a natural organic additive that will give a powerful health boost to your trees. This naturally occurring fungi forms a symbiotic relationship with most tree and plant roots growing in native forests or woodlands. Mycorrhizal fungi helps plants exchange nutrients and moisture which can significantly reduce loss and decline of trees due to poor soil conditions and drought.

It is not 100% necessary to make your tree survive, but considering most urban areas and home sites are deficient of this beneficial fungi, it would provide an enormous enhancement for your tree's survival, overall health and growth rate. (Apply one ounce of mycorrhizal fungi per tree for best results. Trees with a caliper of 1 inch or more require 3 ounces per tree.)

Key product benefits of Mycorrhizal Fungi:

  • Helps plants mitigate adverse environmental stresses such as drought, salinity, and extremes of soil pH.
  • Improves absorption of water and minerals from the soil.
  • Stimulates native and inoculated VAM fungal growth and colonization of roots.
  • Contains Terra Sorb planting gel.

USDA Hardiness Zones

Grows in zones: 3 - 10

This product grows in your zone!

A hardiness zone is a geographic area defined as having a certain average annual minimum temperature, a factor relevant to the survival of many plants. In some systems other statistics are included in the calculations. The original and most widely used system, developed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a rough guide for landscaping and gardening, defines 13 zones by long-term average annual extreme minimum temperatures. It has been adapted by and to other countries (such as Canada) in various forms. A plant may be described as "hardy to zone 10": this means that the plant can withstand a minimum temperature of −1.1 to 4.4 °C (30 to 40 °F).
