Tayberry

About the Tayberry...

The Tayberry is a cane fruit cross between an Aurora Blackberry and an improved tetraploid Raspberry. It was developed by the Scottish Crop Research Institute and is grown for its sweeter, larger, aromatic fruits that have an excellent flavor. The Tayberry are a beautiful bright purple color and can be eaten fresh from the bush or cooked into jams, jellies and desserts. Plant your Tayberry on a sunny site in medium, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter. Tayberry is cold hardy through zone 7 but may need some protection below 15 degrees F. It ripens early July through mid-August.
