About Titan Elaeagnus...Like its cousin the Cherry Elaeagnus, the Titan Elaeagnus is a fast growing deciduous shrub reaching heights and spreads of up to 15'. Also native to China, Korea and Japan, the Titan Elaeagnus exhibits elliptical, bight green leaves with silvery undersides. The flowers produced by the shrub are small, silvery-yellow trumpet like funnels that will bloom in May. Some specimens are known to bear thorns on their speckled brown twigs. The round fruit of the Titan Elaeagnus is loaded with delicious berries that turn red when the fruit ripens in September and attracts deer, rabbits and various species of bird including woodpeckers. The Titan Elaeagnus is tolerant to drought, heat and wind. It prefers acidic sandy soils exposed to full sunlight or partial shade. |
