This member of the Phoenix Palm family is considered the "true" date palm. Also known as Medjool Palm, it produces delicious dates eaten by people of the middle-east for thousands of years. The Date Palm is a very large and impressive palm tree used to guard the entrances of upscale resorts or neighborhoods. Medjool Date Palms can reach heights of 100 feet tall with a 40 foot wide canopy. The leaves have a grey-bluish-green color, and this tree is considered the most beautiful palm of all.
